General Services
24-HOUR HOSPITAL CARE | Emergencies can occur at any time. If you and your pet have a medical emergency we are here for you. Our veterinarians are on call anytime, day or night, to serve you. We provide continuous care with a highly trained nursing staff on the premises 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |
BATHING | Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our Hydrosurge spa baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie or kitty odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trimming, ear cleaning and anal gland expression. We also offer Capstar flea treatment which begins to kill fleas within 30 minutes and eliminates all fleas within 4-6 hours. This revolutionary flea treatment is great for clients with children as there is no topical residue. |
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE | Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. Many pets just need a little understanding and the appropriate training. We offer FREE New Puppy classes for all clients. We also have Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience classes available. These classes are taught by our Obedience Instructor, Elizabeth Harless. Puppy Kindergarten is a 4 week class to start both you and your puppy off on the right foot (paw). Basic Obedience is a 5 week class covering the basics of good dog behavior. BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS | Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. Dr. K. Scott Griffin is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and both he and Dr. Nancy Kersey enjoy treating our feathered friends. Dr. Kersey, Dr. Griffin and Dr. Blue Brawner treat other exotic animals such as retiles, amphibians and small mammals. |
BLOOD TRANSFUSION We have two donor cats that live with us at Carriage Hills Animal Hospital. Marshall and Buddy have saved many lives. They are wonderful pets and we are greatful for their service to fellow felines. |
BOARDING | Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified resort staff do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active. We are very proud of our resort facility. Some of the services offered include: luxury guest suites with television, speaker telephone extensions and pet palace bedding. We also have resort runs and condominiums. For the frisky felines we have kitty condos with an "ocean front" view (a beautiful aquarium) and a glass enclosed play area. We also have an Exploration Area for one-on-one playtime with dogs. We have daycare services for all animals and avian and exotic boarding. |
DAY CARE | Is your pet unhappy or lonely while you're at work? Give your companion the personal attention he or she deserves throughout the day. We offer daycare services for all pets and attend to all of their daily needs. |
DENTAL CARE | Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use a modern and safe ultrasonic cleaner to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, and minor endodontics. |
EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE | In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is here for you and your pet in the unfortunate case of a medical emergency. We are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on call for our clients and their pets. |
ENDOSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery in many cases. |
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY | We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. We work closely with the manufacturers to provide the best medications at a reasonable price. |
HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES | Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client. We understand the human-animal bond and are here for you in this difficult time. |

IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE | We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. Remember, and ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! |
INTERNAL MEDICINE | We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others. Our doctors attend continuing education seminars to stay abreast of the most progressive medical techniques available. |
LAPAROSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permit direct visual examination of your pet’s abdominal cavity without the need for a large surgical incision. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of various abdominal diseases and disorders. |
MICROCHIPPING | Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. |
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING | Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. We carry all premium diets from Hill's Science Diet and Eukanuba. We also have the Diabetic Management diet from Purina CNM. |
PAIN MANAGEMENT | Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. The safety and comfort of your pet are of utmost importance to us. We provide the latest advances in pain management including transdermal pain patches and nerve blocks for orthopedic cases. |
RADIOLOGY | Radiographs– or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. We use many radiographic techniques to further evaluate medical problems such as barium series and contrast cystograms. |
SURGERY | We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology possible. All patients are carefully screened prior to surgery for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pets needs. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient surgical procedures for your pet, heated surgery tables for greater comfort, advanced sterilization techniques, ECG and oxygen saturation monitors as well as constant monitoring by an experienced surgical nurse, intensive after surgery care and complete pre-anesthetic blood testing. All surgical patients recieve an IV catheter and fluids to maintain hydration and regulate blood pressure. Pain management is vital to all surgical cases and safety and comfort are of utmost importance. |
PROFESSIONAL GROOMING | We have three professional pet groomers on staff to best care for those pampered pets. Our groomers take pride in their work and care for each and every pet they pamper. Grooming services include: bathing tailored to the the coat and skin type of each animal, flea treatment using Capstar, nail trimming, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, and a professional coat clipping and styling. Our groomers can tell you what grooming tools are appropriate for at home use. They also have frequent grooming programs to maintain your pets coat on a regular basis. PHYSICAL THERAPY
ULTRASOUND | This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. We couple this technology with telemedicine and send the images captured via the internet to many specialists across the country. This allows us to utlize a specialists opinion in a particular field without the inconvenience of travel for the owner. |
