Dr. Ann Allen B Salter A lifetime resident of Montgomery, Dr. Salter is married to Rusty Salter who works for American Klassic Designs. They have two active boys who enjoy baseball, fishing, golf and watching any sport with their daddy.
Dr. Salter enjoyes the active role of supporting the team sports of her boys and when time permits "between seasons" she enjoys playing golf with the family. She is active in the Women's ministry of Vaughn Forest Baptist Church where she enjoys teaching discipleship classes. Nonsport hobbies include reading and writing "pet parables".
Dr. Salter has three pets, Brother, Hank, and Sam, a stubborn Dachshund, a rescued mutt, and a sweet kitty. Rusty will not allow any more pets; otherwise there would be many more!
Dr. Salter has a special interest in oncology with an emphasis on extending quality and quantity of life through chemotherapy and other modalities. She often participates in Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine's oncology rounds. Dermatology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine are also favorite areas of practice.
Having been a part of this practice (formerly Chambers Animal Clinic) since 1971 (at the age of 14), Dr. Salter fell in love with companion animal care and is blessed to feel the same each day as she comes to work. She considers herself privileged and honored to be a part of so many families through the care of their pets from the pediatric to the geriatric stage. With an emphasis on excellence of medical care coupled with compassion and client education Dr. Salter continues to love the practice in which she literally grew up.
Dr. Salter is a member of the Central Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association as well as the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Bill Van Hooser Dr. Van Hooser is a graduate of Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He has a lovely wife, Joy, who enjoys walking their dog "Buddy". They have three boys, William, Wilson and Walker, all budding basketball players. Deep sea fishing, biking, golf and Auburn sports are his personal hobbies but he spends most time chasing his boys and pets.
Dr. Van Hooser has four dogs, Buddy, Elizabeth, Kitty, and Dann, and two cats, Shaq and Puppy.
In practice, Dr. Van Hooser most enjoys orthopedics and neurosurgery. He also enjoys challenging internal medicine cases.
Dr. Van Hooser can be seen on WSFA Channel 12 "The Pet Vet" every Monday at 6:45 a.m. He has been on this program for over 4 years. He serves on the board of the Montgomery Humane Society, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Montgomery and is an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He is also a member of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Scott Griffin Dr. Griffin and his wife Janice have two beautiful daughters, Rebecca and Jessica. He is a member and officer at Young Meadows Presbyterian Church, serves on the board of Sav-A-Life, is a sponsor and leader for the Boy Scouts Explorer program and is an officer of the Central Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Griffin enjoys cycling, saltwater fishing and reading. The Griffins have a shih-tzu named Henry and a cat named Tinkerbell. Dr. Nancy J Kersey Originally from Canada, Nancy J. Kersey moved to Alabama to attend Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. While she continues to visit Canada as much as possible to see her parents, sister, brother, niece and nephew, she has found the south to be her second home. Dr. Kersey is married to Stephen Weldon, has a handsome stepson, Halen a beautiful daughter, Emily "Emmy" Morgan, and an adorable son, Jackson "Jack" Augustus. In her spare time (ha!), Dr. Kersey enjoys traveling, biking, cooking and reading. Dr. Kersey loves all aspects of Small Animal Medicine and treats dogs, cats, birds and exotic animals. Dr. William R Brawner , III Dr. William R. "Blue" Brawner graduated with highest honors from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 and completed an internship at Indian Springs Animal Clinic in Birmingham. Originally from Auburn, Dr. Brawner is now proud to call Montgomery his home.
He is a member of the Central Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society.
Dr. Brawner and his wife Meredith are active members of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church. Their first child, Will, was born on August 27, 2005. They have a Chinese Pug named Sherman, a golden retriever named Ellee and two cats, Bruno and Gus. Blue and Meredith enjoy boating and waterskiing with friends on Lake Jordan in the summertime. They feel fortunate that both of their families live close by and enjoy frequent visits with them. Blue and Meredith also enjoy traveling, when time allows. Nick Ford Nick has been a smiling and hardworking member of our staff since September 2006. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with Rosebud, his Redbone Coonhound.
Steven A Saliba Steven has been a smiling face in our resort since January 2005. He can often be found playing with our boarding pets, and sharing stories with owners. When he is not at work, Steven enjoys spending time with his ptbull/ boxer mix, Lefty (Left Foot Forward).
Janet Ingram Janet started at Carriage Hills in October 2005. She has been working hard as our Critical Care Ward (CCW) Manager for 3 months. She enjoys working with her fellow nurses to help heal the many patients who come through our CCW. Janet is currently enrolled in Jefferson State Community College's Veterinary Technology Program. When not at work or school, Janet can be found at home caring for her family. Her husband, Craig, and 2 daughters, Shelby & Destiny, are often found assisting her in the care of their many pets. She enjoys protection training with her 2 dogs, as well as spending time with her 2 birds and 2 rabbits. Janet also assists Danielle in wildlife rehabilitation and education in and outside of the clinic.

Jennifer Collins Receptionist
Joelen Vaughn Joelen has been a smiling face at our front desk since March 2005. She has always had a love for animals, and has been working in the veterinary field for 12 years. She has found many cats and dogs homes as our adoption coordinator. She is always happy to see a pet go to a new loving home. When she is not helping clients, completing adoptions, or working on accounts receivable, Joelen can be found at home with her family. She has a house full of pets including 2 dogs, 5 cats, and a snake.
Emily Turner Emily has been a caring and helpful member of our staff since June 2005. When she is not working, Emily can be found loving on her 2 miniature dachshunds Tucker and Taylor.

Beth Harless Beth has been working at Carriage Hills since 1996. She is our resident obedience expert and instructor. She holds classes for new puppys and adult dogs alike. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs, Gammon, Chase, & Mason, and her cat, Elmer.

Tonya Generally Tonya has been spoiling boarding pets in our resort since June 2003. She is from Alton, Illinois, where she grew up as a country girl on ten acres. Tonya has had many pets in her life. Currently, Tonya has a dog name "Titan" and 5 fish. She has always loved animals and has attended Tuskegee University, where she majored in Pre-Vet animal science.
